Why Everyone Needs a Reset Day

Sundays have slowly become my favourite day of the week.
Not because I’m doing anything exciting, but because it’s the one day I properly slow down and check back in with myself. During the week I feel like I’m constantly rushing from one thing to the next, and before I know it, I’m halfway through the week feeling overwhelmed, unmotivated, or just mentally tired.
That’s why I started having little Sunday reset days.
Nothing extreme or overly productive — just small things that help me feel more organised and clear for the week ahead.
Usually I’ll clean my room, wash my sheets, make a coffee, light a candle and sit down with my journal with some MAFS on in the background. I use that time to think about how the week went, what’s been on my mind, and what I actually want for the next week.
I think as women we spend so much time trying to keep up with everything around us that we forget to pause and ask ourselves what we really need.
Sometimes my goals for the week are productive things, like staying consistent or working out or catching up with friends. Other times it’s reminding myself to rest more, stop overthinking, or protect my energy a bit better.
I’ve realised resetting isn’t really about having your whole life together. It’s more about creating space to realign with yourself again.
Even something as simple as writing down:
- What’s been draining you
- What’s making you happy
- What you want more of
- What you need to let go of
can make such a difference mentally.
My reset days aren’t perfect and they definitely don’t always look aesthetic like they do online, they're slow and purposeful. Sometimes I’m still in pyjamas at 4pm with a hair mask in trying to figure my life out. But honestly, that’s the real part of it. We're all human trying to figure it out.
I think every woman needs a reset day because life gets loud. And if you never slow down, you end up disconnected from yourself and your goals without even realising it.
For me, Sundays are my way of starting again.
A soft reset. A fresh mindset. A reminder of the life I’m trying to build for myself.
